PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform boosting charge of an enclosed type nickel.cadmium storage battery with long life and leaktightness by oxidizing hydrogen after absorbing hydrogen gas which is generated in the storage battery. CONSTITUTION:An enclosed type nickel-cadmium storage battery provides hydrogen occlusion alloy which is connected with a positive electrode electrically, and the hydrogen occlusion alloy is able to occlude and to emit hydrogen chemically and electrochemically, and hydrogen which is generated on a negative electrode plate is absorbed by the alloy to prevent internal pressure from rising, and then, electric discharge is made to generate electrochemically to oxidize the hydrogen so that water is produced. Thereby, it is possible to perform boosting charge of the storage battery with long life and leaktightness. |
