PURPOSE:To obtain a pigment which has excellent resistance to water, solvents, oxidation and light and safety and gives a clear color, by bringing a porous alumina contg. an anion into contact with an org. dye soln. and then sealing pores. CONSTITUTION:A porous alumina contg. 0.1mol/kg or more of an anion is brought into contact with an org. dye soln. to enclose a dye in pores, and the pores contg. the dye are sealed. Any of porous alumina contg. 0.1mol/kg or more of an anion and having pores capable of enclosing an org. dye molecule therein may be used, but one having a specific surface area of 10m<2>/g or above is preferred to enclose the dye molecule therein. As the anion, chloride and sulfate ions are particularly preferred.
