PURPOSE:To eliminate damage to the recording medium due to mischucking by rotating a recording medium rotating spindle in reverse by a suitable angle. CONSTITUTION:When a floppy disk containing a magnetic recording medium in a jacket is inserted 1 through an insertion port of the device, the floppy disk (hub 12) is mounted on a spindle 13 by the same means as that of the conventional device. Then a control circuit of the device is started 2, the spindle 13 is rotated in reverse or in the leftward direction 3 by a suitable angle, that is, a reverse current is caused to flow for a suitable time in a driving DC motor of the spindle 13, so that the spindle 13 is turned in reverse by ca. 45 deg.. Then the spindle 13 shifts to normal 4 or rightward rotation, which rotation is maintained. As a result, a roll 18 is inserted into a through-hole 12b, the recording medium 11 is turned with rotation of the spindle 13 and the clearance between a through-hole 12a and the spindle 13 as well as the clearance between the through-hole 12b and the roll 18 is maintained at all times in the predetermined direction under resilience of a plate spring 15. |
