PURPOSE:To improve the washing effect of the seal surface of a cathode-ray tube by making the transferring speed of the cathode-ray tube and the circumferential speed of a washing roller different, and washing the seal surface. CONSTITUTION:A panel 20 is transferred on the washing roller 15 of a washing liquid tank 11, and during the period the seal surface 21 of the panel 20 contacts the outer periphery surface of the washing roller 15 penetrated with a washing liquid C and is washed. Next, the panel 20 is transferred on the washing roller 15 of a water tank 12, and during the period, the seal surface 21 contacts the outer periphery surface of the washing roller 15 penetrated with a liquid W and the washing liquid C adhere to the seal surface 21 is washed. Further, in washing by means of the washing roller 15 penetrated with the washing liquid C and the liquid W, while the washing roller 15 is rotated at a circumferential speed V1, the panel 20 is transferred at a transferring speed V2 by means of a panel supporting means 25. Therefore, the outer periphery surface of the washing roller 15 contacts against the seal surface 21 of the panel 20 in friction, and the seal surface 21 is sufficiently washed. |
