PURPOSE:To minimize the thickness difference of a drum coating layer after drying by preventing the dripping of the drum coating solution after coating, by providing a solvent vapor space with a proper height in a coating solution receiving container. CONSTITUTION:In a coating solution receiving container 1 receiving a coating member 11 such as a blade and a coating solution 12 and having a ring shape lid 13 mounted to the upper part thereof, the space 10 above the coating solution 12 is filled with the vapor of an org. solvent, for example, tetrahydrofran. The height H of this solvent vapor space 10 is appropriately determined by the gap 131 between the ring shaped lid 13 and a drum 2, the solution receiving width W of the container 1, the viscosity of the coating solution and the coating speed of the drum 2 but, for example, set to the value within a range of about 5-30mm. By this method, the dripping of the coating solution is prevented by passing the drum 2 immediately after coating through said solvent vapor space 10 to form a uniform coating layer and no drying film is generated even on the surface of the coating solution. |
