PURPOSE:To shorten a connection time accompanying an increase in short busy state and to improve the use efficiency of a device by holding instruction execution in a stand-by state while respective magnetic disk controllers are connected to respective connecting device when a short-time busy increases and then carrying on the instruction execution after the short-time busy state is reset. CONSTITUTION:An instruction from a DKC 2a is obtained by decording signals of a TAG line and a BUS line inputted to the decording circuit 9a of a DSC 3a and an instruction which requires the reading or writing of a memory is detected by a short busy operation detecting circuit 10a and sent to a DSC 3b through a signal line 13. If an instruction which requires the reading or writing of the memory arrives at the DSC 3b at this time, an AND circuit 11b holds a TAG GATE signal in an inhibit (wait) state, so an operation circuit 12b does not operate. Namely, the DSC 3b is held in a wait state, which is carried on until the memory reading/writing operation of the DSC 3a is completed, namely, while the signal line 13 is on.
