PURPOSE:To control suitably a gain of a chrominance signal system by an external color measuring sensor by providing a control means to insert a color temperature correcting filter of approximately the same characteristic to the color measuring system, followed by inserting the color temperature correcting filter into an optical system of an image pickup system. CONSTITUTION:The picture information obtained through a color resolving filter 4f from a CCD4C is respectively sample-held to R, G and B signals by a sample holder 5 and sample holders 6R, 6G and 6B for separating the color, and goes to be an electrical signal of the desired band through chrominance signals LPFs 7R, 7G and 7B. Out of them, R and B signals pass through gain control amplifiers 8R and 8B, are matched with a white balance, a non-linear signal processing of a gamma calibration etc., is executed at a process circuit 9, and an NTSC signal is obtained through an NTSC encoder 10. On the other hand, the R an dB signals obtained by color measuring sensors 1R and 1B go to be an R/B signal at a dividing circuit 2, a gain control signal occurs in accordance with a color temperature correcting curve at a gain control signal generating circuit 3 and the gain of amplifiers 8R and 8B is controlled.
