PURPOSE:To automatically perform a series of barrel polishing operations by disposing in sequence barrel polishing means, opening and closing means, charging means of abrasive, abrasive solution and workpieces, selecting means for selectively dividing the workpieces from the abrasive, and further providing carrier means for carrying barrel polishing pots to each means. CONSTITUTION:Carrier means 55 includes a carrier robot 57 for carrying an empty port 14 from barrel polishing means 11 to opening and closing means 31, where cover member 16 of the pot 14 is removed from a pot body 15, and then the pot 14 is carried to charging means 35. In the charging means 35, predetermined abrasive in an abrasive container 26 carried by the carrier robot 57 from abrasive storing means 25 is charged in the pot 14. Then, the pot 14 is carried to the opening and closing means 31, where the cover member 16 is closingly mounted to the pot 14, and then the pot 14 is carried to the barrel polishing means 11 where the pot 14 is rotated at a predetermined rotating speed for a predetermined period of time so as to perform barrel polishing. After the polishing, the pot 14 is carried by the carrier robot 57 to selecting means 41 where workpieces are selectively divided from the abrasive. |
