PURPOSE:To color the surface of a Ti or Ti alloy electrode lustrously golden or brown by using the electrode as an anode or cathode and supplying DC in water soluble paint for electrodeposition to carry out coating by electrophoresis. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of a polymer made soluble in water with a tertiary amine or a quat. ammonium salt is used as water soluble paint for electrodeposition. A Ti or Ti alloy anode and a cathode of Pt, Ti, stainless steel, Pb, Al or the like are put in the water soluble paint, and DC is supplied between the anode and cathode at 20-150V voltage to carry out coating by electrophoresis. A film is formed on the surface of the Ti or Ti alloy anode by the coating.
