PURPOSE:To improve the resolution of a reproduced image by carrying out recording and reproduction while widening the band of an FM video signal up to the band of an FM audio signal when an audio signal is recorded without FM modulation. CONSTITUTION:The audio signal 1 to be modulated is sent to an amplifier 9 through an FM modulator 2, BPF13, and switch 24. Further, a luminance signal 4 to be modulated is sent to the amplifier 7 through an FM modulator 5, switch 27, and HPF16. The amplifier 7 mixes an FM audio signal, FM luminance signal, and a color aignal 8 which is converted to a low frequency range and the resulting signal is recorded on a tape 11 through a recording amplifier 9 and a magnetic head 9. In this case, a BPF29 for widening the frequency band of the FM luminance signal is connected in parallel to the HPF6 and when the audio signal is not FM-modulated, the system from the modulator 5 to the HPF6 is switched to the system from the modulator 5 to the BPF29 through a switch 27. Similarly, a reproduction system widen the band of the FM luminance signal to the FM audio signal frequency range. |
