PURPOSE:To obtain accurate positioning of a workpiece by using a pallet with poor size accuracy in a device for positioning the pallet carrying the workpiece on a conveyer by providing the device with guide plates, an eccentric stopper and a detecting mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A pallet 14 carrying a workpiece 16 is transferred by means of a conveyer 1 and when it reaches the machining position, it is introduced at both end surfaces thereof between guide plates 15 to position the workpiece 16 in the direction at right angles to the transfer direction. Further, when the front end surface of the pallet 14 comes in contact with the outer peripheral surface of a bearing 13 to stop the transfer, a pulse motor 8 is actuated to rotate an eccentric stopper 12 through gears 9, 10 through a predetermined angle, so that the pallet 14 is pressed thereby oppositely to the transfer direction to be positioned in the transfer direction. At the same time, a photoelectric tube 17 is operated to detect the position of the workpiece 16 for accurate positioning thereof in the transfer direction. After completion of machining of the workpiece 16, the eccentric stopper 12 and the bearing 13 move down to allow the workpiece 16 to be transferred. |
