PURPOSE:To select dynamically the constitution of a system input/output device by providing a means which inquires device addresses of input/output devices from a central controller and obtains the respective device addresses from the respective input/output devices. CONSTITUTION:When device addresses are inquired of common control circuits 4.2 from a channel device 2 through a signal line (c), the common control circuits 4.2 while initiating an interruption to the central controller through a signal line (d) reads the device addresses 4.8 and the contents of device kind displays 4.4 through data lines (r) and (n) and report them to the central controller 1 through input/output buffers 4.1 and a data line (e). Thus, all input/output controllers 4 belonging to the channel device 2 report their device addresses and kind displays to the central controller and the system knows dynamically the input/output device constitution in it. |
