PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body having high sensitivity characteristics and retaining stable electrostatic chargeability characteristics after repeated uses by incorporating a specified disazo pigment in a photosensitive layer as a photoconductor. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate contains at least one of disazo pigments represented by general formula (1) or (2) in which each of R1-R>=7 is H, halogen, cyano, nitro, or optionally substd. alkyl, alkoxy, or aralkyl; and A is a coupler residue having phenolic OH, or a coupler residue of 2-methylindolenine deriv. A film contg. this disazo pigment having photoconductivity can be used for the photosensitive layer of the electrophotographic sensitive body. The electrophotographic sensitive body is prepared by forming the film of this pigment on the conductive substrate by the vapor deposition process, or dispersing it into a proper binder and coating the substrate with it. |
