PURPOSE:To obtain superior charge control performance and good heat and humidity resistance and high durability in uses in friction with toner by forming a specified hydroxyamine chelate on the surface of the toner. CONSTITUTION:The hydroxyamine chelate represented by the formula shown on the right, A, B being hydroxyamine residue, X being a neutral ligand, such as H2O or NH3, Me being a metal atom, and n being 0 or 2, is added to the surfaces of a charge donor, such as carrier particles, a sleeve, or a doctor blade, by coating them with the donor or dispersing the donor into them by kneading or the like. The use of such a donor permits an additive for enhancing charging characteristics to be unnecessary to be added to the toner, and the good charge donor to be enhanced in durability in friction with the toner to be obtained by the superior charge control performance and good heat and humidity stability, etc., of the hydroxyamine chelate, and various problems occurring in the case of mixing a charge donor only to the toner to enhance charging characteristics to be solved. |
