PURPOSE:To reduce the number of driving circuits into a half by constituting the titled device of a display panel formed by arranging plural display cells like an X-Y matrix, a common driving circuit for applying an input video signal every adjacent display cells in the Y direction and a switching circuit for switching each of said adjacent plural display cells in each filed of said input video signal. CONSTITUTION:A digital signal is alternately supplied to memories 171R, 171G, 171B for one frame each and memories 172R, 172G, 172B for one frame each and the data of each picture element are simultaneously extracted from the memories 171R, 171G, 171B or memories 172R, 172G, 172B every other frame and supplied to a data selector 108, so that 18 (X8 bits parallel) data signals are formed and supplied to a multiplexer 109 and each 8-bit parallel signal is converted into a serial signal and supplied to an optical converter 110, which converts the serial signal into an optical signal.
