PURPOSE:To uniformize triboelectrifying amt. between toner particles themselves or between these and carrier particles and easily controlling these amts. by incorporating (alkyl)salicylaldehyde chelate in the toner composed essentially of a binder resin and a colorant. CONSTITUTION:The electrostatic charge controller to be used is the chelate compd. of salycylaldehyde substd. by alkyl, such as methyl, ethyl, or t-butyl, and in some cases, it can form a complex salt with ions of chloride, perchlorate, tetrafluoroborate, etc. Said chelate not only exhibits superior charge control performance as a charge controller but also heat storage stability and low hygroscopicity. |
