PURPOSE:To weld well a high-nitrogen stainless steel by including TiO2, metallic fluoride and metallic carbonate, as the main components, and S and Bi as the components of small amount in a flux respectively as well as including N in the flux and the skin of stainless steel. CONSTITUTION:The sum of one or two kinds or more of TiO2, metallic fluoride and metallic carbonate, is 30-85wt% with respect to the whole weight of a flux, and at least one kind of these components of the amount of >=30% with respect to the flux is included in the flux as well as a single substance of Bi or one or two kinds or more of the compounds, amounting to 0.001-0.1% or 0.001-0.3% with respect to the whole weight of a wire, are included in the flux. Further, N of the amount of 0.05-0.4% is included in both wire and wire skin. Moreover, the flux of the amount of 5-25% with respect to the whole weight of wire, is filled. A filler metal obtained in such manner is suitable for the uranami root-pass welding of a high-nitrogen stainless steel.
