PURPOSE:To enable to undersore in a color different from the color of characters, by a method wherein one or more of a plurality of recording means is set to record in a color different from the recording color of the other recording means, and a predetermined emphasis record pattern is formed by the recording means set for the different color. CONSTITUTION:While following a program stored in a ROM3, a CPU2 controllingly drives a recording head 8, a motor 9 and a motor 10 through drivers 5, 6, 7 in accordance with recording data transferred from a host computer 1. The recording head 8 comprises 9 ink jet nozzles DT1 arranged in a vertical row, and comprises heating resistors for each of the nozzles. When an electric current is passed to the resistor, an ink in the corresponding nozzle is instantaneously boiled, and an ink is jetted from a jet port, whereby a record dot is formed at a position corresponding to the nozzle. By setting the recording color for the nozzle DT9 to be different from that for the nozzles DT1-DT7, a character can be underscored with a higher degree of emphasis. |
