PURPOSE:To enable the degree of use of an ink ribbon to be accurately recognized by the user, by a construction wherein a rotary plate is provided which is connected to an ink ribbon feeding roller or the like through a speed reducing mechanism, and indications concerning the useful life of the ink ribbon are provided on the upper surface of the rotary plate. CONSTITUTION:With the feeding rollers 5 rotated, the ink ribbon is fed in the direction of arrow C, while the rotary plate 9 is rotated in the direction of arrow D at a markedly reduced speed. On the upper surface of the plate 9 are indicated numbers 10 of printed characters (in the figure, 40k, 45k..., wherein 40k means that 40,000 characters have been printed). An upper frame 2 is provided with a notched window 11, and a pointer 12 is provided in the vicinity of the window 11, so that the numbers 10 of printed characters on the plate 9 can be directly observed through the window 11. |
