The invention relates to manipulation of an individual portable device which to outward appearance is a "novel compass" in the format of a credit card which uses micro-opto-magneto-chromo-electronic means in order to operate with a new numerical language suitable for defining selective orientation, information and classification. Handling is carried out with a chromatic organisation diagram figuring on the buttons of the apparatus which take account of the activities and of the elementary consciousness states of man in order to obtain a novel declarative abridged language for orienting, informing and classifying oneself. This language is equally suitable for chromatic subject definitions in firms. This geographical-colorimetric classification participates, then, in the same context as other functions: information technology, administration, production, standardisation, communication, in the creation or in the complementing of a global automated management system. <IMAGE>
