Apparatus for tangential filtration, comprising at least one module for tangential filtration, at least one orifice for the entry of the liquid to be treated, at least one orifice for the exit of the concentrate and at least one orifice for the exit of the filtrate, characterised in that each module consists of a filter element comprising a conduit 2 through which the liquid to be filtered passes and whose section decreases in the direction of flow of the liquid to be filtered, from the liquid entry orifice 3 towards the concentrate exit orifice 5. The base of the conduit 2 consists of the outer surface of a receptacle intended to collect the filtrate, and its walls are formed by a plate 1 arranged so as to separate the streams of liquid to be treated, of filtrate and the concentrate and to discharge them separately. The thickness of this plate defines the height of the conduit and its form determines the filtration surface. <IMAGE>
