Organic compounds having mobile hydrogen on primary, secondary or tertiary C atoms (e.g. isopropylbenzene) are dimerised (e.g. to biscumyl) or polymerised by means of peroxyketals (e.g. 1,1-bis(t-butylperoxy)cyclohexane) without pressure in a simple apparatus at temperatures between about 110 DEG and 180 DEG C.
