The invention makes it possible to design an optical probe device in such a way that it causes only a small pressure drop in the associated line section, that it is easy to clean, particularly with throughflow, and that it permits the measurements of high turbidities of the fluid to be analysed under constant measurement conditions. These advantages are achieved, inter alia, by a measuring duct running parallel to the axis of the line section being formed in the bottom of the probe device housing, and by providing an optical path which crosses the measuring duct only once (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
