PURPOSE:To prevent the sticking of dust and dirt to the surface of a storage medium disk and to prevent the grazing of the surface by forming a protective film of a synthetic resin soln. or synthetic resin emulsion on the surface of the storage medium disk and making strippable the protective film. CONSTITUTION:The protective film 2 is formed of the synthetic resin soln. or emulsion which does not physically and chemically affect the storage medium disk 1 consisting of a glass plate, etc. onto said disk. A tetrahydrofuran (THF) soln., methylene chloride soln., etc. of a polyvinyl chloride resin are usable for the synthetic resin soln. An emulsion prepd. by using a vinyl chloride resin, etc. as the synthetic resin and using water as a solvent can be used for the synthetic resin emulsion. The protective film 2, if formed of the synthetic resin emulsion on the disk 1, can be easily stripped from the disk and a good result is obtd. particularly when the disk 1 is a synthetic resin plate such as acrylic resin plate or polycarbonate plate. The film 2 is easily strippable from a notch 21 and the good result is obtd. if the notch 21 is formed to the film 2.
