Apparatus for separating fibres from a stream of transporting air. The fibres are separated on an air-permeable surface and are removed by a pulling-off device. The speed of the pulling-off device is determined by the extent to which the air-permeable surface has been filled. The pulling-off process only starts when a minimum degree of filling has been reached. The pulling-off speed increases as the degree of filling increases.
