PURPOSE:To reset cleaning operation automatically by a simple mechanism by allowing a cleaning member to contact and leave an intermediate image (electrostatic latent image) carrier such as a photosensitive body and a dielectric integrally or synchronously. CONSTITUTION:The beltlike photosensitive body 1 moves as shown by an arrow during recording operation, but when a projection 4 provided to a roller 2 is off a cleaning device 5, a blade fitting plate 5b is energized by a spring 6 clockwise around a fulcrum A, so a blade 5a is pressed against the surface of the beltlike photosensitive body 1 to remove remaining toner. When the projection comes to a cleaning position provided to the roller 2, part of the blade fitting plate 5b is pressed by the projection 4 to rotate counterclockwise around the fulcrum A against the spring 6. Consequently, the blade 5a leaves the surface of the beltlike photosensitive body 1 momentarily, but the seam 1a of the beltlike photosensitive body 1 passes by the blade 5a at this moment. |
