PURPOSE:To complete a reading job without stopping the actuation of a character reader despite the generation of errors by providing a reversible feeder device to a rejection table together with a selector guide and therefore attaining the feed of slips to a reading part from both directions. CONSTITUTION:When a reading error occurs, a slip 2 is led to a rejection table 10 by a selection guide 8. While the slip 2 is sent to a stacker table 9 when it is read with no error (Fig. A) The slip 2 having a reading error is taken into a character reader after al reading jobs are through at a reading part 6. In such a case, the table 10 moves up and a feeder 13 and a dry blower 15 are turned toward an arrow head in Fig B. Then the part 6 performs the reading job. Hereafter the slips 2 read with no error are led to the table 9 by a selection guide 16 and then the slip 2 is sent to a hopper table 1 when an error occurs.
