Humidifying filter for an air humidifier

The humidifying filter (2) is composed of a plurality of adjacently arranged, concertina-like folded filter elements (2b), the folded edges (12) of which run vertically. These folded edges (12) are separated for the greater part by slots (8) which extend from a site slightly spaced from the top rim of the filter elements (2b) to through their bottom rim, as a result of which a plurality of elongate filter strips (9) are formed. The filter strips (9), in the use position of the humidifying filter (2), are arranged at an angle of 45 DEG to the air stream flowing in the air humidifier. The humidifying filter (2) is held by a retaining device (3) which is composed of a frame (4) having rods arranged at a distance which extend through recesses in the top rim region of the filter elements (2b). The air flowing through the filter element (2) is made highly turbulent, as a result of which a high humidification efficiency is achieved (Fig. 4). <IMAGE>
