摘要 PURPOSE:To detect the generation of any sewing deviation accurately and quickly, by positioning fabrics sewn between a light emitting element and two light receiving elements arranged as opposed to one another to determine the difference between the quantities of transmission light from the light receiving elements. CONSTITUTION:For example in the knitting of panty hoses, two pieces of stocking 8 and 9 are set on a clamper 2 and are sewn at the panty parts 14 along the sewing line by a sewing machine 3 stretching the cut portion thereof linearly. But when the rubber parts at the upper ends of the two pieces 8 and 9 of stocking are shifted from each other, the shift in the rubber ends will cause a so-called sewing deviation after the sewing. To solve the problem, the portions of the rubber ends are set to detect whether the upper and lower fabrics are aligned exactly or not using light receiving elements 4 and 5 provided immediately after the sewing machine 3. As the light receiving elements 4 and 5 are arranged successively in the ongoing direction of the stocking following the sewing thereof, a lag takes place in the changes in the quantity of transmission light. The two signals are processed to enable accurate and quick detection of errors due to the sewing and knitting deviation in the automated sewing process.
