PURPOSE:To eliminate a wait time substantially by varying the temperature of a heat fixing means from the 2nd specified temperature to the 1st specific temperature within the time from the depression of a copy start switch to the conveyance of a support material to the heat fixing means. CONSTITUTION:When a main switch is closed, a heater 82 and an auxiliary heater 82 are excited and an upper roller 60, a lower roller 62, and a fan 87 are held off, so the peripheral surface temperature of the upper roller 62, i.e. detected temperature of a detection means 81 rises abruptly. The period from time t0 to time t1 is an initial period for holding a fixing device 58 at necessary temperature. A control means 88 holds the upper roller 60 at constant peripheral surface temperature on the basis of the detected value of a temperature detecting means 81. Namely, the temperature is controlled to the 1st specific temperature T1. When a clutch means 80 is excited, the clutch means 80 enters a coupling state to allow the upper roller 60 and lower roller 62 to start rotating. |
