PURPOSE:To enable to operate the device with keeping the safety and reduce the cost by a method wherein an electric current comparison means is provided to compare an electric signal outputted from an electric current detecting means of an air conditioner with an electric current presetting value outputted from an electric current memory means. CONSTITUTION:After starting of a compressor at a frequency f0, a detected temperature T by an outdoor air temperature detecting thermistor 1 is lower than a preset temperature T0, the detected temperature T is outputted from a comparator 3 as an output L, inputted to a microcomputer 5, an electric current limit value I2 (as a value I0 decided by a resistance circuit 6) is compared with a detected electric current I due to a CT circuit 4 at every fixed period. Consequently, in case of I>=I2, an operating electric current is controlled to be less than a limit value I0 by outputting a signal for decreasing the frequency of a frequency conversion device. At the temperature rising after passing time, when the detected temperature exceeds the preset temperature T0, an output from the comparator 3 becomes H, then the electric current limit value I2 becomes I1 decided by a resistance circuit 7. Therefore, a n allowance in a control device and the like can be managed within a small range, accordingly, a design having no uselessness can be achieved.
