PURPOSE:To prevent the damage of the part previously painted and the deterioration of the quality of a base material by welding hull blocks which are painted except the welding part, then oscillating the welding part with a resonance frequency, and painting only the welded part. CONSTITUTION:A hull block 1 is previously painted except the welding part 1W to be welded with another block 1. When the hull blocks are welded at the welding part 1W to form a hull structure, strains are generated at the welding part by the welding heat. Accordingly, the vibrator 2b of an oscillator 2a attached to the welding part 1W and oscillated in accordance with a resonance frequency for a specified time, hence dislocation is produced in the material structure, the deformation of the crystal structure is regulated, and the residual stress is removed. Then only the welding part 1W is painted. Consequently, repainting is dispensed with, and the ship is painted without causing any decrease in the strength by heating.
