PURPOSE:To restore the gloss of the surface of a steel sheet at low cost while preventing rusting by sprinkling hot water on the precoat steel sheet, then sprinkling water to cool the sheet, and then draining with a sponge roller. CONSTITUTION:When pressure marks generated on precoat steel sheets which are piled up and stored for a long period are erased, hot water in a water storage tank 11 equipped with a heater is sprinkled from many spray nozzles 12 to heat a steel sheet 1 to that temp. of the hot water and erase pressure marks, then water is sprinkled from the second spray 22 to cool the steel sheet 1, and the sheet is almost drained by a rubber roller 31. Then the sheet is completely drained by a sponge roller 31. Consequently, the sheet is completely drained and the generation of rust can be reduced.
