<p>PURPOSE:To improve durability of sealing surface and to facilitate positioning, fixing and exchange of seal member by forming a sealing surface of a fixed part of a highly hard material and fitting the seal member along a guide in a seal member holding part. CONSTITUTION:In a high speed rotary joint for transferring liquid between a rotary shaft rotating at high speed and a fixed part interposing a face seal, a member 20 for constituting the face seal of the fixed part is formed of a highly hard material having chemical resistance and providing high surface precision, such as tungsten carbide, sapphire, etc. A ball piece 3 is provided as a holder of the face seal constituting member 20 in such a manner to include the member. By this constitution, the durability of the face seal constituting member is prolonged because the member is made of a nonabrasive material and only the seal member is exchanged as it is consumed. Further, the seal member is easily fitted to the rotary shaft after positioning.</p> |
