PURPOSE:To heat uniformly a material to be treated by directly blowing hot gas from burners on the material placed on a carriage and moving the carriage back and forth. CONSTITUTION:Burners 2 for heating a material to be treated are arranged in line in the longitudinal direction of a rapid and uniform heating furnace at prescribed intervals so that the nozzles confront the inside of the furnace. A material 1 to be treated is placed on the top of a carriage structure which is freely moved back and forth in the longitudinal direction of the furnace. The carriage structure has wheels 3 under the bottom. The material 1 is heated rapidly and uniformly in the rapid and uniform heating furnace.
