PURPOSE:To prevent a blackened film from peeling off along the bend at the bending after blackening treatment by providing the steel sheet for a magnetic shield of a television cathode-ray tube having low carbon content and low nitrogen content and by incorporating specific amounts of Ti. CONSTITUTION:A stock of cold rolled steel strip containing, by weight, <=0.01% C, 0.05-0.40% Mn, <=0.015% N, and <0.10% Sol.Al, and also containing Ti so that the Ti content is in the range 0.01-0.40% and satisfies Ti>4X(C%+N%) is subjected to press working into desired shape, which is subjected to blackening treatment to produce the steel sheet 2 for a magnetic shield of a television cathode-ray tube 1. When this steel sheet is bent into >=90 deg. to be attached to the television cathode-ray tube, the peeling off of the blackened film along the bend of the bent part 10 can be prevented by the use of the steel strip having the above composition as a stock. |
