PURPOSE:Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) based monofilaments, consisting of a composition obtained by incorporating a metal soap with a polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) based polymer, having a high knot strength, and suitable for finishing materials such as fishing lines, fishing nets, etc. and filter cloth, brush, etc. CONSTITUTION:Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) based monofilaments obtained by incorporating PVDF based polymer with preferably 0.02-0.3wt% metal soap, preferably expressed by the formula (RCOO)nM [R is 7-13C (substituted) hydrocarbon; M is Mg, Ca, Ba, Al, Zn, Cd, Sn or Sb; n is an integer equal to the valence of the metal atom], extruding the resultant mixture through a melt spinning machine preferably at 240-290 deg.C, cooling and solidifying the extruded monofilaments, and drawing the solidified monofilaments in many stages.
