PURPOSE:To transmit always messages with the best transmission efficiency by providing an operating means, which calculates the error rate of a transmission line and an overhead time each time when a message is transmitted, to change the block length in accordance with arithmetic results. CONSTITUTION:A blocking processing part 3 divides a transmission message into blocks by the block length indicated by a block length arithmetic part 7 and transfer these blocks to a block transmission processing part 4. The block transmission processing part 4 transmits the blocked message to the reception side while controlling error, and simultaneously, the processing part 4 transfers the data of the number of transmission blocks, the number of retransmission block, the transmission start time, and the transmission end time to an arithmetic part 5. Then, the arithmetic part 5 calculates the error rate and the overhead and transfers them to the block length arithmetic part 7. The block length arithmetic part 7 calculates an optimum block length on the basis of data of the error rate and the overhead received from the operating part 5 and indicates it to the blocking processing part 3. |
