<p>A plug and receptacle connector (10) for interconnecting a printed circuit board (76) with a multi-conductor flat cable includes a receptacle (30) having terminals (60) of the tuning fork type, and a housing (40) which is mounted to an edge of a printed circuit board. The plug assembly (30) includes a plurality of U-shaped terminals (120) each comprising at least an L-shaped channel made up of one of two parallel spaced-apart cable engaging walls (124) joined by a common bight portion (126). One end (126a) of the bight portion comprises a plug terminal contact surface which is received by the tuning fork receptacle terminals (60). At the opposing end of the terminal (120), each cable engaging wall (124) includes an insulation displacement termination portion having a slot (130) for interconnection to a flat cable conductor.</p> |
