PURPOSE:To improve working efficiency by taking in the output data from a load cell and a distance measuring instrument and controlling the lifting of a suction head. CONSTITUTION:A casting mold 3 receives buoyancy by as much as the weight of a molten metal 2 equal to the volume at which the mold dips into the molten metal and the signal from the load cell 8 decreases when the mold 3 attached to a suction head 4 contacts with the molten metal 2 and dips therein. A hydraulic cylinder 12 is actuated until the signal corresponding to the buoyancy attains a desired level. The solenoid of a directional control valve is de-energized to set the valve in a center position when the desired dipping depth is attained. The cylinder 12 is then stopped, by which the mold 3 is stopped and held at the desired depth in the molten metal. |
