PURPOSE:To prevent a seal material from being broken away in cutting and to improve quality by forming an adhesive layer which reinforces the adhesion of two large-sized film substrates of a liquid-crystal display element manufactured by multi-working between the seal material and an element end surface. CONSTITUTION:When a multi-worked substrate 2 is formed, many electrodes are formed on surfaces of the two large-sized film substrates, which are stucked together across seal materials and adhesive layers 5, 6, and 7 for reinforcement to form many elements at the same time. Those adhesive layers 5, 6, and 6 for reinforcement are formed between the seal material 1 and the end surface of an element. A cut part 4 is provided previously to a film substrate of the multi-worked substrate 2 at the side where no end part if formed at a part corresponding to the end part. The stress due to the deformation of the film substrate when the substrate if cut along a cutting line 3 is reinforced by the adhesive layers 5, 6, and 7 for reinforcement to prevent the seal material 1 from being broken away. Specially, the adhesive layers 5 and 7 perpendicular to the terminal side are effective. Thus, a leak defect in a seal part is prevented.
