PURPOSE:To obtain the titled cast steel having superior strength, wear resistance and castability by adding specified amounts of C, Si, Mn, Mo, Ni, Cu and Al and a prescribed amount of Mg, Ca or Ce and forming a bainite matrix structure. CONSTITUTION:A steel consisting of, by weight, 0.5-2.0% C, 1.0-3.5% Si, <=1.0% Mn, <=0.6% Mo, <=3.0% Ni, <=2.0% Cu, <=0.07% Al, a graphite spheroidizing element such as Mg, Ca or Ce by an amount required to spheroidize graphite in the steel and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities is cast after graphite in the steel is spheroidized, and the resulting Y-shaped block is austempered to convert the matrix structure into a bainite structure. Thus, a cast material having superior strength, wear resistance and castability and enabling reduction in the weight of parts of an internal-combustion engine is obtd.
