PURPOSE:To improve the storability, particularly water resistance, oil resistance, plasticizer resistance, and chemical resistance of a thermal recording material containing a leuco dye and a developer by using a polyester resin containing a hot water-soluble sulfonate as a binder or a main component for barrier film-forming agent. CONSTITUTION:A thermal layer containing a colorless or light-color leuco dye and a developer capable of coloring the leuco dye when heated is provided on one side of a supporter, and a covering layer is provided on the thermal layer. An under layer is provided between the covering layer and/or the supporter and the thermal layer and/or a back layer is provided on the other side of the supporter. In such a thermal recording material, a polyester resin containing a hot water-soluble sulfonate, as a binder or main component for barrier film-forming agent, is added to at least one of the thermal layer, the covering layer, the under layer, and the barrier layer. |
