PURPOSE:To provide a brake amount indicator which may give information for ensuring safe running to the following vehicle, by indicating the degree of brake depression of the preceding vehicle to the following vehicle. CONSTITUTION:The degree of brake depression is detected by a brake depression degree sensor 2 which is composed of a potentiometer, a pressure sensor and the like, associated with a bake, for detecting angles, forces and the like. A processor 3 including a microcomputer receives the output which is the detected brake depression degree, ad issues an output signal in accordance with the degree of brake depression. Then this output signal is delivered to an indicator 5 which is arranged in the rear section of a vehicle body 1 such that its displaying surface faces rearward, through a drive device 4 associated with an indicating element. The indicator 5 comprises fluorescent character display tubes, LEDs arranged in a dot-like, segment-like or a bar graph-like pattern or a liquid crystal display, for indication. |
