PURPOSE:To enable setting the driving speed of a head arm at an arbitrary value by giving a dumper function to the electromagnet of a head arm driving device forming a movable iron core and a fixed iron core provided in a solenoid to a piston type and a cylinder type. CONSTITUTION:An arm 2 connected to a movable iron core 10 is supported by a pin 12 as a shaft at the end of the movable iron core. If a current flows in a solenoid 1, the arm 2 is attracted with the movable iron core 10 to the solenoid 1 by electromagnetic force and pulled in a fixed iron core 11. In this case, the movable iron core 10 and the fixed iron core 11 have the relation of a piston and a cylinder the air in the fixed iron core 11 is compressed, the compressed air acts as a dumper, the arm is slowly driven and a magnetic head 8 is brought into contact with a magnetic diskette 9 without giving a shock. |
