PURPOSE:To improve a turbine wheel in its weight and others by using a hollow body previously provided with a thick part on its outer end in the process of its production. CONSTITUTION:A turbine wheel 1 made of titanium alloy or other heat-resisting alloys is shaped into a hollow body with a thick part 1a and a hollow part 1b extended inward in previous preparation for the processing of a center hole 3. This turbine wheel is combined with an operation shaft 2, and the center hole 3 is processed by machinery. Then, the thick part 1a is removed, and the hollow part 1b is opened to the outside. This method permits to manufacture the turbine wheel at a light weight. |
