PURPOSE:To save labor and improve safety for an apparatus for feeding steel pipes with weld beads by providing a plurality of electromagnets classified into two groups, one including a basic number of the steel pipes and the other a reduced number of the pipes, both corresponding to the steel pipe diameters, and by combining both groups. CONSTITUTION:When the outer diameters of steel pipes are integer times as long as the pitch 1 between adjacent electromagnets, both groups A and B of the electromagnets are made to be two electromagnet groups, for example, MA-1-MA-10 and MB-1-MB-10, respectively, in which the pitch 1 is equal to the outer diameters of the pipes. When the outer diameters are not integer times as long as the pitch 1, the groups A and B are made to be a basic number group and a reduced number group, respectively, and the sum of the pitches 1 is determined to be equal to the sum of the outer diameters of two steel pipes. This structure, meeting the various diameters of the steel pipes, can save labor and improve safety. |
