A substituted azolylvinyl ketone or carbinol of the formula in which R1 represents optionally substituted cycloalkyl with 3 to 5 carbon atoms, substituted cyclohexyl or the grouping wherein R3 represents optionally substituted phenyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, cyano or the grouping -Z-R4, wherein R4 represents halogenoalkyl, optionally substituted phenyl or optionally substituted phenylalkyl and Z represents O, S, SO or SO2, n represents a number from 0 to 2, R2 represents alkyl, alkenyl, alkinyl, in each case optionally substituted phenyl or phenylalkyl, or in each case optionally substituted cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, cycloalkenyl, cycloalkenylalkyl, bicycloalkyl or bicycloalkenyl, but R2 does not represent optionally substituted phenyl at the same time as represents optionally substituted cycloalkyl with 3 to 5 carbon atoms or substituted cyclohexyl or R3 represents optionally substituted phenyl, x represents the CO or CH(OH) group and Y represents a nitrogen atom or the CH group, or an addition product thereof with an acid or metal salt. The products are active in combating fungi and in regulating the growth of plants.
