PURPOSE:To improve manouvability at the editing of Japanese and European sentences by designing a first key so as to be larger than the respective charac ter key and using a key for KANA (Japanese syllabary)/KANJI (Chinese characters) conversion indication and a space key for the editing of European sentences in common. CONSTITUTION:The first and the second keys 4, 5 are provided below the group K1 for inputting of the character keys. The key 4 acts are KANA/KANJI conversion indication key during Japanese sentence editing mode and as a space key during English sentence editing mode. The key 5 acts as a space key during Japanese and English sentence editing modes. The key 4 is formed with a larger size than the character keys because it is frequently in the both editing modes. In such a manner, the good manouvability is obtained during the editing of both the Japanese and English sentences.
