PURPOSE:To constitute a digital controlling device easy to use by making determination of allotted address of an input/output card by an address selector switch provided in the card itself, and making the position of attaching the card to the base free. CONSTITUTION:Card category setting circuits 141, 151, 161, 171 set, for instance, '0' to a contact input card and set '1' to a relay output card in the card. Numerical values are determined corresponding to other kind of digital output, analog output, etc. Address selector switches 142 152, 162, 172 set '0' to the switch 142 of the first contact input card 140, and set '1' to the second switch 152. Further '0' is set to the switch 162 of the first card 160, and '1' is set to the switch 172 of the second card 170 by switches 142, 152, 162, 172. Thus, when an address corresponding to the card is read out from an address decoder, data are inputted/outputted through a latch according to the state of external equipments.
